About this collection

This collection features over 300 documents and images digitized in conjunction with the Hagley Library's Universal Design web exhibit, which explores the careers of designers Thomas Lamb and Marc Harrison.  The primary goal of the philosophy of universal design is the creation of products and environments that are accessible to people of all ages and abilities, and it played a major role in the barrier-free movement of the late twentieth century.  Materials in this collection date from the early years of Lamb's and Harrison's careers to the late twentieth century.
